Health & Safety 101
“Safety is a shared responsibility”
Safety in the workplace is a high priority for the Government, regulatory agencies, employers and workers in Alberta. However, safety does not start and end in the workplace. Hazard assessment and prevention occurs in the home, on the sports fields and highways, and in the workplace. For this reason, this one day course was developed to protect the health and safety of the insurance industry workers who are “not engaged in the work of the employer but are present at the worksite at which the work is carried out” (OH&S…2-1 General Duties of Employers).
The course covers topics such as: legal duties and responsibilities, hazard assessments and controls, hazard communications, use of personal protective equipment, reporting of on-site incidents and near-misses, and other health and safety topics relevant to the workplace. This seminar is presented by Patrick Martens.
